Description

Poetry and Spoken Word night with open mic, support and headline performances.

Come along to our regular spoken word and poetry evening. Book yourself an open mic spot or just buy a ticket for the show. There will be wonderful work shared by our local regular performers, plus support from emerging talent Zac Leon, all washed down with a fantastic headline performance from Jason Vegas Butler. Optional theme: Reflections.

Jason Butler is a slam winning spoken word poet who loves performing at venues and festivals.

His work spans a plethora of topics from the emotional confessional, the occasional rant, grossly exaggerated anecdotes through to stand up silliness. Also, if asked nicely he can merrily weave an improvised verse from thin air.

Based in Cornwall, he arrived oven-ready on the poetry scene in 2014 after two decades performing as a renowned MC under his alter ego Vegas.

During 2020 he has written and performed over 80 “Poem a day during Lockdown” videos all available on his facebook page, each piece based on current events or a myriad of weird and wonderful topics suggested by his followers.
