What’s On At liskeard Library

An Evening with Simon Armitage.

Thursday 6th March, 19:00 – 20:30.

Liskeard Library is excited to announce that, as part of his decade long tour, Simon Armitage will be visiting the Library on March 6th for a poetry reading and Q and A session alongside local poet Pascale Petit.

The event is free however, booking for this event is essential due to anticipated demand. The first round of tickets will be available to book from 11am on Saturday 25th January.

This event will be limited to ages 11+ as poetry can contain strong language.

Meet your New Writer in Residence – Nell Turner

Thursday 30th January 4pm -7.30pm Drop in at Liskeard Library

Come along and meet your new writer in residence at Liskeard Library, Nell Carroll Turner. Drop in and have an informal chat with Nell, see what creative activities and events might be coming up over the next few months and how Nell will be supporting creative writing in Liskeard and South East Cornwall. There will be some free creative writing taster activities to get your creative juices flowing.

Young Poets (11-17)

Cornish Language (all ages 11+)

Entrants must be living in Cornwall.

Entries will be Judged by Nell Turner, our new writer in residence and Caleb Barron from Valley Verse.

The winners of the competition will be invited by Liskeard Library to perform their winning poem on 6th of March, alongside Simon Armitage and Pascale Petit.

Join us for Live & Later at Liskeard Library!! With poetry and spoken word all night it’s a fabulous way for writers to connect!!

We welcome any poetry or story telling group who would like an evening out in the Library, the chance to share their work with a local appreciative audience. We provide the venue, a pa, the bar/cafe and and some seating and the poets provide the rest.

Whether you’re coming to share work or simply to enjoy the work of others you are very welcome. This is a free event with no booking required.
