Description

An introduction to the wonderful world of Journaling via a variety of different journaling subjects.

Journaling Workshops for adults 16+

Your group is guided by Suzanna Jay, aka The Wild Scribe, @wild_scribe_life – who is part of an immense journaling community on Instagram. Perfect for all ages and all levels of journaling experience.

There will be a large selection of themed ink-stamps & colourful inks pads to borrow on the day, plus a huge collection of themed ephemera, stencils, postage stamps, wax seals, decorative washi tapes and stickers for you to use in the decoration of your journal pages and covers.

There will also be fun demonstrations of various stationery tools and equipment, plus an opportunity to use a fountain pen filled with a choice of colourful inks so that you can experiment with your handwriting and create some unique headers and titles for your journal.

The sessions are always fun, inspiring, addictive, informal and informative. Please note that your journaling experience on the day might prove to be so positive and enjoyable, that it may potentially lead you down the rabbit hole into all sorts of new journaling activities and pursuits.

CREATING A TRAVEL JOURNAL

Celebrate the memories made during your holidays for all time, by creating a Holiday Journal. If you are currently preparing for a trip, just returned from somewhere, or wishing to create a memento of a previous holiday, this will be a perfect opportunity to make it happen! Not just for holidays, but also a great way to begin recording those daytrips which hold special memories, or recording a journey that takes you to a special day.

You are very welcome to bring along your own A6 blank notebook to the workshop, or else you can purchase one from Suzanna on the day, for an additional cost. Suzanna will be demonstrating throughout, using her own passport-sized journal insert and/or a passport-sized accordion insert.

The session will begin with discussion on the various ways to approach the completion of a travel journal, depending on what kind of traveller you are, guiding you through what to look for on your travels, what to keep/collect, incorporating photos and how to ensure you effectively record all of those precious memories. There will also be opportunities to browse through some of Suzanna’s own travel journals for some additional inspiration.

If you have guidebooks, maps etc that might seem too large, please still bring them along and let’s see if there are ways to incorporate parts of them, somehow; perhaps by using the Library photocopier?

At the end of the session you will take away a Travel Journaling information sheet plus your little decorated travel journal, prepped and ready to fill with your own memories and ephemera from your chosen holiday. This can act as a template for all your future holiday travel journals. You will also be filled with inspiration for any larger more complex travel journals that you may wish to attempt in the future.

The ephemera packs will be available free for workshop, within the ticket price.

Either bring along your own A6 journal/journal insert OR you can purchase a blank Wild Scribe Accordion Insert on the day for an additional £5 cash payment.
